WHAT IS A DESIGN SPRINT?
A Design Sprint is a flexible product design framework designed to quickly maximize the chances of creating a successful product.
Within 5 days, new ideas are validated by a small team through prototyping and real-user testing. Design Sprints are an effective tool to reduce risks when launching new products, get quick answers and lead to a deeper understanding of user needs and wants. The framework contains elements from the design process, the design thinking, and wraps them in agile values.
THE DESIGN SPRINT CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING 5 PHASES
The Design Sprint is essentially a 5-day intensive hackathon. We’ve improved the process, so as a client you only need to free yourself up for the first two days.
Monday, we define the challenges, the scope of the week and potential solutions for the challenges. Tuesday is about deciding what challenges the prototype will face. Wednesday, we create a compelling, high fidelity prototype and prepare the test. The prototype is then tested with real users on Thursday before we finalize the findings, recommendations and an action plan on Friday.
The result after 5 days is a validated concept with real user feedback and
a clear definition of the next steps.
WHY A PRODUCT DESIGN SPRINT?
It is no longer enough to have a „good quality product“– you need the right product. Product design sprints are the fastest way to find out whether a product is worth developing, whether a feature will make the difference or whether the value proposition is really relevant for the target group.
In the last two years we have run design sprints for websites, configurators, app concepts, e-learning concepts, voice skills for Amazon Alexa, chatbots, content concepts, as well as for physical products.
